: 빈 공간을 채우고 또 다시 비운다.

: A bin is a container to put rubbish in and a container to keep or store things in.

 

 

10일간 열리는 이번 전시와 공연은 ‘보다’라는 주제로 켜켜이 쌓이고 얽힌 김이슬의 작업실을 열어 보인다. 그간의 작업물 들과 방법들을 이 공간을 방문한 이들과 나누고 비워내며 새로운 만남을 통한 이야기들로 다시 채우고자 한다.

 

일정. 2020년 12월 4일- 13일

전시. 매일 12-19시 (13일 12-15시, *16시 관객과의 대화)

공연. 수시로 진행 (소요시간 30분 내외)

장소. 서울시 종로구 삼청로길 100번지 (삼청동 주민센터 마을버스 정류장 앞)

빈 공간 BIN

 

‘임대’라고 써붙인 수많은 도심 속 빈 공간들을 봐오며 그 곳을 무대로 다양한 사람들을 만나고 싶다라는 막연한 생각이었다. 유리로 된 공간, 안이 들여다 보이며 너와 내가 눈이 마주칠 수 있는 공간. 이상한 궁금함에 이끌려 발을 들이게 하는 공간. 무심코 들어온 당신을 위한 공연을 하고 싶은 마음. 코로나19로 도심 속 빈 공간들은 점점 더 늘어났다. 자주 가던 떡볶이 집, 인터넷상의 맛집들도 검색사이트에 아직 이름도 지우지 못한 채 빈 공간으로 남았다. 하나 둘 복작복작한 생기보다는 텅빈 냉기로 채워지는 공간들에 그 곳을 비워냈을 이들의 텅빈 마음이 다가왔다. 더욱 이 빈공간들에 머물며 누군가와 따뜻하게 만나고 싶어졌다.

 

 

This project is a combination of experimental performance and exhibition of Moomplay’s decade long research on perception. Over a 10 day span an empty space is built up and transformed into a place filled with research materials and and performances and after which it returned to its former emptiness.

 

 

This project is based on previous work and research on human perception and perspective by Moomplay. Using empty or vacant stores due to current covid-19 restrictions; the huge glass store fronts are utilized a viewing/interactive barrier. Typically the audience can view the performer and performing space through the glass from the street level and conversely, participants that choose to enter then become part of the performance; as they are observed by onlookers outside and simultaneously be the observer as they watch the main performer and the spectators on the street.  This format seeks to experiment and provide the audience alternative and interactive experience in contrast to the tradition performer and audience setup.
